Day 18 - Homeward
Transfer to the airport for your homeward (or onward) flight .
Humano Lima
Humano, Lima, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel brings a genuinely local flavour to the Miraflores neighbourhood, blending indie style with warm, personal service. Set along the Malecón Balta with views over the Pacific, the hotel favours character and connection over corporate polish, staff greet you by name and share the kind of tips you won't find in any guidebook. Guests can unwind at the rooftop grill restaurant Entrañable on the 18th floor, tuck into artisan bread and thoughtfully sourced coffee at Café de Lima, or take a dip in the outdoor pool between exploring the city.
Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica
Deep in Peru's southern Amazon, Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica sits on the banks of the Madre de Dios River, part of a private 17,000 hectare reserve bordering Tambopata National Reserve. Thirty five wooden cabañas, raised on stilts and styled after Ese'Eja tradition, blend into the rainforest canopy, thatched roofs overhead and hammocks strung for slow afternoons. Despite the sense of remoteness, it's little more than a short flight from Cusco, followed by a river journey through dense green.
Sonesta Posadas del Inca Yucay
Sonesta Posadas del Inca Yucay spreads across the foot of the Sacred Valley, a rustic colonial hotel built around cobbled streets and its own quiet plazas. With 118 rooms set among gardens and walkways, and views stretching to the Inca terraces beyond, the property feels closer to a village than a hotel. A chapel sits at its heart, stone and timber worn soft with age, ready for weddings and quieter ceremonies alike.
El MaPi by Inkaterra
El MaPi by Inkaterra brings a smart, contemporary edge to Machu Picchu Pueblo. Lofty ceilings, panoramic windows and dried eucalyptus branches fill the lobby with light, setting a bright, easy going tone from the moment you arrive. It's a lively yet unfussy hotel, the kind of place that welcomes you back after a big day of exploring rather than demanding attention of its own.
Palacio Manco Capac
Palacio Manco Capac rises above Cusco on foundations laid centuries before the Spanish ever arrived. Once known as Palacio Qolqampata, this sixteenth century mansion carries five hundred years of history in its walls, Inca stonework meeting colonial arches, restored with care rather than replaced. A double jamb gateway, pure Inca craftsmanship, still stands amid the terraced gardens that surround the property, framed by groves of eucalyptus and quiet views over the Imperial City below.
Casa Andina Premium Puno
Casa Andina Premium Puno sits right on the shores of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, perched at over 3,800 metres above sea level. Stone, wood, and clay tiles give the building a rustic, altiplano character, while fireplaces warm the lobby and restaurant against the cool evening air. Most of the 45 rooms open onto private balconies framing the water, and a long private pier stretches out over the lake itself, ready for early morning departures to the islands.
Colca Lodge
In the Colca Valley, three hours from Arequipa and perched at 3,250 metres above sea level, Colca Lodge sits on the banks of the Colca River, surrounded by pre Inca terraces recognised as national cultural heritage. Built from mud, stone, and straw in a style drawn from the ancient Collagua people, the lodge blends into its surroundings so completely that rooms, gardens, and farmland run together without walls or fences between them. Nature sits close here, softened only by the comforts needed for genuine rest.
Palla Boutique Hotel
Palla Boutique Hotel occupies a historic house in the heart of Arequipa, the white city, where volcanic stone buildings glow pale gold against the Andes. Inside, careful restoration has kept the bones of the original building intact, high ceilings, thick colonial walls, while the rooms themselves feel calm and contemporary. Step outside and the city's landmarks are within easy walking distance, the kind of location where a stroll before breakfast takes in centuries of history without ever touching a taxi.
