Day 1 - Lima

Arrive into Lima, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day settling in ahead of the adventure to come.

Day 2 - Lima city tour

Discover Lima's most captivating streets and squares on a panoramic tour. Begin in Miraflores at Parque del Amor, home to the striking sculpture The Kiss, before visiting Huaca Pucllana, an ancient ceremonial centre of the early Lima culture. Continue into the historic centre for the Plaza de Armas, the Government Palace and Lima Cathedral, finishing with a visit to the Convent of Santo Domingo.

Day 3 - The Amazon

Fly into the rainforest region of Puerto Maldonado and transfer to your jungle lodge, watching for wildlife along the way. Choose from a guided rainforest walk introducing the biodiversity of the Amazon Basin, or a River at Night boat trip as the jungle transitions from day to night. An evening talk on rainforest life and conservation completes the day.

Day 4 - The Amazon

Explore beautiful Sandoval Lake, home to giant river otters, caimans, piranhas and the impressive paiche fish. After lunch, walk the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway high above the forest floor for spectacular views over the treetops, then follow the elevated Anaconda Walk across the Aguajales wetlands in search of amphibians, birds and the occasional snake.

Day 5 - The Amazon

Cruise along Gamitana Creek spotting piranhas, caimans and turtles, then visit Gamitana Farm to learn about sustainable Amazonian agriculture. In the afternoon, discover the plant collection at Hacienda Concepción before a canoe excursion in search of turtles and herons. After dinner, a Night Rainforest walk reveals the jungle after dark.

Day 6 - The Sacred Valley

Return by boat along the Madre de Dios River to Puerto Maldonado, with time to visit the Butterfly House. Fly on to Cusco and transfer to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

Day 7 - Pisac Market and Ollantaytambo

Browse the colourful stalls of Pisac Market before continuing to Ollantaytambo, one of the best preserved Inca towns, with its impressive temple and fortress complex set against dramatic mountain scenery.

Day 9 - Machu Picchu and Cusco

Spend the morning at leisure in Aguas Calientes, with the option to revisit the citadel. Return by Vistadome train to Poroy station and transfer to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 10 - Sacsayhuaman and Cusco's Inca sites

Visit the imposing Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park, followed by Q'enqo and Tambomachay, with a panoramic stop at Puca Pucara watchtower. The tour concludes at Koricancha, the Inca Temple of the Sun, and Cusco Cathedral.

Day 11 - Cusco

Explore the city at your own pace, from its cobbled lanes to its lively markets and cafes.

Day 12 - Cusco to Puno

Travel by tourist coach across the southern Andes towards Puno, stopping at Andahuaylillas Chapel, the Raqchi archaeological site and its Temple of Wiracocha, and the Pukara Museum, known for its traditional ceramic bulls. Lunch is served en route with a stop at La Raya Pass, the highest point of the journey.

Day 13 - Lake Titicaca

Spend a full day exploring Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake. Visit the Uros floating islands, built entirely from totora reeds, then continue by boat to Taquile Island, where local traditions and dress remain much as they have for generations. Lunch is served on the island before returning to Puno.

Day 14 - Puno to Colca

Cross the high Altiplano plateau, spotting alpacas and llamas along the way, before arriving in Chivay in the heart of the Colca Valley. In the afternoon, an optional visit to La Calera hot springs offers a chance to unwind in natural thermal waters.

Day 15 - Colca Canyon and Cruz del Condor

Rise early for the Cruz del Condor viewpoint, one of the best places in the world to witness the flight of the Andean condor above one of the deepest canyons on earth. Continue to the traditional villages of Maca and Yanque before returning to Chivay for lunch and a relaxed afternoon.

Day 16 - Colca to Arequipa

Drive through Andean highlands and volcanic scenery to Arequipa, the White City, arriving in the afternoon.

Day 17 - Arequipa

Explore Arequipa's colonial San Lázaro district before visiting the Carmen Alto viewpoint, with its views of ancient farming terraces and the three guardian volcanoes: Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu. Continue to Yanahuara and its iconic sillar stone arches, then visit Santa Catalina Monastery, closed to the public for almost four centuries. The tour ends at the Plaza de Armas, taking in the Cathedral and the Church of the Society of Jesus.
