This fifteen day journey traces a remarkable arc across southern Peru, beginning in the capital Lima before venturing to the volcanic White City of Arequipa, the dramatic depths of Colca Canyon, the sacred waters of Lake Titicaca, and finally into the Sacred Valley and the citadel of Machu Picchu itself. It is a holiday built around Peru's most iconic landscapes, from soaring condors to salt covered valleys, and its most treasured Inca heritage, all brought together in one exceptional itinerary.

Day 1 - Lima

Arrive into Lima, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel, with the rest of the day free to settle in.

Day 2 - Lima City Tour

Discover Lima on a panoramic tour, beginning in Miraflores at Parque del Amor, home to the sculpture The Kiss, before visiting Huaca Pucllana, an ancient ceremonial centre. Continue into the historic centre for the Plaza de Armas, the Government Palace and Lima Cathedral, finishing at the Convent of Santo Domingo.

Day 3 - Arequipa

Fly to Arequipa, the White City, where a tour begins at the Carmen Alto viewpoint, taking in ancient farming terraces and the three guardian volcanoes: Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu. Continue to Yanahuara and its famous sillar stone arches, then visit the sixteenth century Santa Catalina Monastery. The tour concludes at the Plaza de Armas and the Church of the Society of Jesus, with its celebrated Dome of San Ignacio.

Day 4 - Arequipa to Colca Valley

Travel to the Colca Valley, enjoying spectacular views of the Chachani, Misti and Pichu Pichu volcanoes en route, and crossing the Pampa Cañahuas reserve, home to wild vicuñas. Lunch is served along the way, with the afternoon free to relax at your hotel or visit nearby thermal baths.

Day 5 - Cruz del Condor and the villages of Colca

Rise early for the Cruz del Condor viewpoint, one of the finest places to witness the Andean condor in flight above one of the world's deepest canyons. Continue to the colonial villages of Maca and Yanque before lunch at a local restaurant.

Day 6 - - Colca to Puno

Visit the villages of Coporaque, Achoma and Lari on the valley's right bank before continuing to Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca.

Day 7 - Lake Titicaca

Spend a full day exploring Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake. Visit the Uros floating islands, built from totora reeds, then continue to Taquile Island, where traditional dress and customs endure. A typical Andean lunch is served on the island before returning to Puno.

Day 8 - Puno to Cusco

Travel by tourist coach to Cusco, stopping at the Pucara Museum, known for its traditional ceramic bulls, before continuing to La Raya Pass, the boundary between Puno and Cusco, and Raqchi, the Temple of Wiracocha. A final stop at Andahuaylillas takes in its chapel, often called the Sistine Chapel of the Andes, before arriving in Cusco.

Day 9 - The Sacred Valley of the Incas

Explore the Sacred Valley's finest sites, beginning in Chinchero, known for its Inca ruins, colonial church and skilled weavers. Continue to Moray, an extraordinary Inca site of concentric terraces once used as an agricultural laboratory, and Maras, famous for its thousands of ancient salt pools. After lunch, visit the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo, taking in the Temple of the Ten Windows and the Baths of the Ñusta.

Day 10 - The Vistadome train to Machu Picchu

Take the scenic Vistadome train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, following the Urubamba River through a dramatic canyon, then climb by shuttle bus to the citadel. Explore Machu Picchu's terraces, stairways and ceremonial plazas on a guided tour, followed by a relaxed three course lunch at Café Inkaterra overlooking the Vilcanota River.

Day 11 - Free time at Machu Picchu and return to Cusco

Spend the morning at leisure in Aguas Calientes, with the option to revisit the citadel. Return by Vistadome train to Poroy station and transfer to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 12 - Sacsayhuaman and Cusco's Inca sites

Visit the imposing Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park, followed by Q'enqo, dedicated to the puma, and Tambomachay, known as the sacred fountains, with a panoramic stop at Puca Pucara. The tour concludes at Koricancha, the Inca Temple of the Sun, and Cusco Cathedral.

Day 13 - Free day in Cusco

A day at leisure to explore Cusco at your own pace          .

Day 14 - Cusco to Lima

Fly back to Lima, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel          .

Day 15 - Homeward

Transfer to the airport for your homeward (or onward) flight          .
