Day 2 - Bangkok

Bangkok Art and Culture Walk (full day) (6-7 hours) First we take the skytrain from your hotel to the "Saphan Taksin" pier or we go by taxi, directly into the heart of Chinatown - it depends on where you are staying in Bangkok. We will pay a visit to the Chinese temple of Wat Leng Noei Yi. A Coffee or tea will be served in a Chinese coffee- house that exactly looks like it did decades ago before we continue by bus to the Indian quarter. Next we will stroll across the old iconic bridge Saphan Phut. On the other side of the bridge lies Thonburi and a Portugese quarter which has some hidden "gems" to offer. There is Wat Prayoon which is lesser known than some of his "colleagues" but no less interesting and decorated with the UNESCO "Excellence Award". We will visit the 18th- century chapel of St. Cruz-Church and stroll through the old alleys where you can taste exquisite homemade pasties. We will then board a longtail- boat and continue with a klong tour which ends at Klong Bang Luang a small artist- village. You will be able to see a puppet- show on weekend (Sat - Sun) only. However, the show is not guaranteed because sometimes the artists occasionally get hired out by private functions. We will return by boat to the pier and then back to the hotel. But before you go back you should not miss out on feeding the fish in the klongs. It's said to bring you good luck!

Day 4 - Siem Reap

Be prepared to be overwhelmed as today is all about Angkor. No doubt you've seen photos of the epic Angkor Wat, the largest and most important of the Angkor Temples, full of courtyards and carvings. Then there's the mysterious Bayon Temple with its giant smiling stone faces. And let's not forget the haunting beauty of Ta Phrom - left to the clutches of the jungle, bound by the roots of massive trees. But nothing can prepare you for the sheer scale and the spiritual atmosphere that you will experience when seeing these ancient monuments in real life. We will of course, visit all the above, plus many more renowned and lesser known temples. To end a perfect day, we'll climb to the upper terraces of one of the ancient temples to view the sunset. Today's Highlights: Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom (Terrace of the Elephants, Terrace of the Leper Kings, Baphuon, Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, Bayon Temple), Ta Prohm, sunset view from an ancient temple.
