Rocky Mountains

The Canadian Rocky Mountains are located within the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta. They are famous worldwide for their jagged edges, snow-capped peaks, alpine lakes, breath-taking scenery and diverse wildlife.

  • A must see when visiting the Canadian Rockies is Mount Robson, this is the highest peak in the Rockies. This mountain is 12,972 ft high and would require about one week on the mountain to climb. However, the second highest peak is Mount Columbia which is similar in height (12,293 ft) but is a much easier climb only requiring a day or two.
  • The Canadian Rockies are famous for their spectacular glacial lakes including the stunning Moraine Lake located in Banff National Park, another famous lake is Lake Louise (also known as Lake of the Little Fishes) offering stunning crystal clear waters and breath-taking views.
  • There are 5 fantastic National Parks located within the Canadian Rockies: Banff, Jasper, Kootenay and Yoho which are all adjacent to each other and Waterton National Park which is located in the southwest corner of Alberta.
