Day 2 - Vancouver City Highlights Tour

Prepare to experience the unique history and unfolding splendour as you tour through the modern streets of Vancouver. Drive by the most renowned sights and learn how Vancouver became the city it is today. Situated on the edge of the Pacific Ocean and framed by British Columbia's imposing mountains, it's easy to fall in love with this astonishing city. Drive through historic neighbourhoods such as Gastown, Chinatown, scenic English Bay and the picturesque Vancouver Harbour. Stops in Stanley Park feature Indigenous Peoples' Totem Poles, spectacular views of the mountains and the Lions Gate Bridge. Also includes the opportunity to wander through the charming farmer's market at Granville Island.

Day 3 - Vancouver to Victoria (68 km/42 mi + ferry)

Depart Vancouver this morning to Victoria. Cruise across Georgia Strait through the beautiful Gulf Islands with BC Ferries to Vancouver Island. We have included admission to Butchart Gardens.

Day 4 - Victoria to Campbell River (269 km/168 mi)

Travelling north on the Island Highway, pass through Duncan, the “City of Totems”. If time permits visit the Quw’utsun’ Heritage Village which provides you with an insight into the lives of the North West Coast People (seasonal hours -admission not included). Further north is the artist community of Chemainus, where you can admire giant murals which adorn the exterior walls throughout the town. By late afternoon arrive in Campbell River.

Day 5 - Whale Watching & Wildlife Safari Cruise

Explore the waters of the Salish Sea, Discovery Passage, and Johnstone Strait. With an abundance of wildlife in the area, you are likely to encounter Humpback Whales, Killer Whales, Pacific White-Sided Dolphins, Bears, Steller Sea Lions, and so much more. While they can't guarantee all of these animals on every tour, Campbell River Whale Watching takes pride in each of the tours and takes every opportunity to show guests everything that is possible during their tour.

Day 6 - Campbell River to Port Hardy (241 km/150 mi)

Today continue your journey north. Near Port McNeil you may wish to take an optional Orca watching cruise into the waters of Johnstone Strait. Your day ends in the fishing community of Port Hardy

Day 7 - Port Hardy to Prince Rupert (Ferry)

Embark on a full day of cruising the sheltered waters of Canada’s Inside Passage with BC Ferries (ferry toll included). During the length of the 15-hour crossing, a wonderful array of snow-capped mountains combined with rich forests provides a background for a series of dramatic fjords.

Day 8 - Prince Rupert to Smithers (364 km/227 mi)

Today, follow the Yellowhead Highway, hugging the Skeena River for most of the way. Pass through the mining town of Terrace and into Smithers.

Day 9 - Smithers to Prince George (372 km/232 mi)

Depart Smithers today, continuing along the Yellowhead Highway. Passing through Houston - known as the Steelhead Capital and home to the world’s biggest fly rod - over 18 metres in length! Next you will travel through Burns Lake and Vanderhoof into Prince George.

Day 10 - Prince George to Jasper (376 km/234 mi)

Day 11 - Maligne Lake Guided Walk

This introduction to Jasper begins with a short tour of the town before heading across the Athabasca River to Maligne Lake. A century after Mary Schaeffer's remarkable adventure, come discover the world-renowned Maligne Lake for yourself! A short stop at the disappearing Medicine Lake, another one of Jasper's watery gems where you will learn about Karst topography of the area, and the mystery of why Medicine Lake disappears annually. Next we'll carry on to the pinnacle of our tour, breathtaking Maligne Lake! Enjoy a gentle walk along the shores of this pristine lake before heading back to Jasper.

Day 12 - Jasper to Banff (265 km/164 mi)

Your scenic drive today takes you along the Icefields Parkway through the spine of the Canadian Rockies. View a never-ending procession of mammoth mountains, jagged peaks, over 100 glaciers and pristine emerald coloured lakes. Along the way see such sights as the Columbia Icefield and take an Ice Explorer ride out onto the glacier (included). Continue on to Lake Louise and Banff.

Day 13 - Banff & It's Wildlife with Gondola

This small group tour is the perfect introduction to Banff and includes some of Banff's most scenic and historically significant highlights such as the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Bow Falls, Surprise Corner Lookout, and Banff's largest lake, Lake Minnewanka. Plus, enjoy hot chocolate or fresh water (depending on the time of year) and maple cookies at one of the scenic stops. You'll then be transported to the base of Sulphur Mountain and ride the Banff Gondola to the top at 7,486 feet. At the summit, marvel at the unsurpassed view of Banff, the Bow Valley and a 360-degree view of six scenic mountain ranges. You'll feel like you're on top of the world when you are standing on the spacious main level observation deck. After your download on the Banff Gondola, the guide will transport you back to your Banff hotel. It's a great tour for seeing wildlife, so don't forget your camera!
