Explore Yukon’s vast wilderness with our 9-night motorhome holiday.

Yukon is home to spectacular scenery and natural wonders, visit Kluane National Park home to Canada’s highest mountain Mount Logan and the perfect location for spotting wildlife from caribou, grizzly and black bears and dall sheep to name a few. For a sense of adventure enjoy a canoe trip along Kathleen Lake, whitewater rafting on the Canadian Heritage River and hike to the Midnight Dome and take in the awe-inspiring views.

Visit the various First Nation’s centres across the Yukon including the Thechàl Dhâl Visitor Centre to learn about the culture and beliefs of the Yukon’s First Nations. Learn about the impact the Gold Rush era had on the Yukon when visiting Dawson City, filled with historic buildings and Diamond Tooth Gertie’s Casino, the oldest casino in Canada.

Day 1 - UK to Whitehorse

Arrive in Whitehorse, making your way to your hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 2 - Whitehorse to Carcross (72.4km)

Today pick up your CanaDream motorhome and begin your Yukon adventure! 

South from Whitehorse Carcoss is rich in First Nations culture, stand in the presence of inspiring Totem Poles that tell the First Nation's story. Visit the First Nations visitor centre which provides spectacular views across Nares Lake as you learn about the connection of First Nations people to the land. 

Explore the Carcoss Desert, previously a glacier fed lake now sand dunes waiting to be explored against the mountain backdrop.

Day 3 - Carcross to Haines Junction (225km)

Today make the drive from Carcross to Haines Junction. We recommend driving along Miles Canyon on route there is lots of great locations to stop and enjoy a hike along the river for the best views.

Learn about First Nation's culture with a visit to the Da Ku Centre. At this cultural facility and interpretative site, you can learn about the culture and beliefs of First Nation's in Yukon. 

We recommend staying at Kathleen Lake Campground, as it provides great access to Kluane National Park.

Day 4 - Haines Junction

Today explore Kluane National Park a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and home to Canada's highest mountain Mount Logan. From Haines Junction you can enjoy a flightseeing experience which provides spectacular views across the park. Kluane National Park is a wildlife hub, driving along the roadside it's a great location to spot grizzly and black bears, dall sheep, caribou and wolves. 

Explore the great outdoors and take a canoe out on Kathleen Lake or if you are looking for adventure enjoy white water rafting on the Canadian Heritage River. Hike along the cirque of King's Throne providing breathing taking views across the lake.

Day 5 - Drive the Alaska Highway

Drive along the Alaska Highway, once called “the biggest and hardest job since the Panama Canal” it was originally built to connect mainland USA to Alaksa during WWII but today it's one of the most iconic drives in the world. There is lots of fantastic scenery to see enroute as well as attractions to visit. Burwash Landing, the Kluane Museum of Natural History provides in depth history to the local area and Destruction Bay which got its name due to a serve windstorm that destroyed many of the buildings. Today it’s a great place to stop to stock up on essentials for when you’re out on the road.

We recommend staying overnight at Discovery Yukon Lodging located along the highway.

Day 6 - Alaska Highway to Dawson City (487km)

Driving along the Top of the World Highway you will arrive in the Gold Rush town of Dawson City. An official National Historic Site and now part of the newly designated Tr'ondëk-Klondike UNESCO site. Dawson City was the scene of the greatest gold rush in history. It is filled with historic sites and attractions waiting to be explored the best way to explore the history is with a walk along the wooden boardwalks or join a Parks Canada guided walk to make sure you don't miss anything. 

While in Dawson City visit Diamond Tooth Gertie’s Casino, one of Canada’s oldest gambling halls, and enjoy their nightly summer shows during your stay.

Day 7 - Dawson City

From Dawson City there is lots of fantastic destinations to explore. We recommend visiting Tombstone Territorial Park situated along the Dempster Highway. This park is filled with rugged peaks, brilliant tundra, permafrost landforms, and abundant wildlife. 

No visit to Dawson City is complete without a visit to the Midnight Dome viewpoint. You can either drive or hike to the top and take in the spectacular views across the city. You can see the Yukon River, Klondike Valley and Ogilvie Mountain Range - the perfect stop for viewing the Midnight Sun.

Day 8 - Dawson City

Dawson City is filled with museums telling the stories of its rich history. Visit the Jack London Museum where you can learn about the life behind the author who wrote White Fang, Call of the Wild and many more stories. Learn about Dawson City's First Nation's connection with a visit to Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in, at the Dänojà Zho Cultural Centre.

Day 9 - Dawson City to Whitehorse (553km)

Today make the drive back to Whitehorse. On route, Carmacks is a great spot for lunch. While you’re in Carmacks, explore the local history and enjoy a walk along the riverfront which provides excellent views of the Yukon River. 

We also recommend visiting the 5 Finger Rapids. Take a walk along the trail where you can learn about this history of the area and the significance during the Gold Rush.

Day 10 - Whitehorse to UK

Today drop off your RV before making your way to the airport for your onward flight home.
