New York by Rail

Day 1 - Arrive New York City

Arrive in New York City making your way to your chosen hotel spending the remainder of your day at leisure. The quickest way from both airports is by train into Manhattan and costs approximately $16 per person.

Day 2 - Explore New York City

Spend today exploring the vibrant energy of New York City. We've included admission to the Top of the Rock Observation Deck, where you'll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Manhattan, including the Empire State Building and Central Park.

New York City is packed with iconic landmarks waiting to be discovered. Highlights include the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, Times Square, Little Italy, and the moving memorials at 9/11 Memorial each offering a unique glimpse into the city’s rich history and culture.

Day 3 - New York City

Another full day to explore New York City, speak to your consultant if you wish to add on one of our New York experiences.

Day 4 - New York City to Syracuse

Today your journey through upstate New York begins! Make your way to Penn Station for your journey to Syracuse, your train journey will follow the Hudson River up to Albany before traveling further into New York State to Syracuse. Upon arrivial into Syracuse make your way to your hotel spending the rest of your day at leisure. 

Day 5 - Syracuse

Syracuse is a diverse city filled with lots to explore from history to nature. In Clinton Square learn about William "Jerry" Henry at the Jerry Rescue Monument and learn about the history of the Erie Canal at the Erie Canal Museum. Visit the nearby town of Skaneateles considered the Crown Jewel of the Finger Lakes Region. Enjoy a selection of wine at Anyela’s Vineyard or head out onto the lake for a relaxing boat tour.

Day 6 - Syracuse to Rochester

Make your way to Syracuse train station for your train journey to Rochester. Upon arrival in Rochester make your way to your downtown hotel spending the remainder of your day at leisure. Take your time to explore the downtown area filled with lots of local eateries and shops to explore.

Day 7 - Rochester

Spend today exploring Rochester with a visit to the George Eastman House and Museum and learn about the life of George Eastman and the creation of Kodak. Visit The Strong National Museum of Play, a museum filled with with toys and games spanning across decades and take part in the many interactive exhibits. Or get out on the water with a canal boat ride along the Erie Canal with Sam Patch and learn about its history and impact across New York.

Day 8 - Rochester to Buffalo

Your train journey continues today to Buffalo, upon arrival in Buffalo make your way to your chosen hotel spending the remainder of your day at leisure.

Day 9 - Buffalo

Buffalo is rich culture with the Buffalo AKG Art Museum one of the oldest museums dedicated to the art of our time. Visit the Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House designed and built by architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the house has been restored to reflect how the house would have looked in 1970’s. Buffalo’s Canalside is filled with lots to experience with the Waterway of Exchange which tells the story of the Erie Canal, the Buffalo & Erie County Naval and Military Park and enjoy a boat tour on Lake Erie.  

Day 10 - Buffalo to Niagara Falls

Today take the short train journey to Niagara Falls one of the great wonders of the world. After checking into your hotel explore Niagara Falls State Park, America’s oldest state park. Visit the Niagara Falls State Park Education Centre and learn about the history of Niagara Falls and the Niagara Falls Movement.

In the evening enjoy the Illumination show and watch as the falls are lit up in the night sky. The start time variers throughout the year depending on sunset and remains on until 2am.

Day 11 - Niagara Falls

Today we have included a variety of attractions at Niagara Falls. This small group tour will take you to the highlights of Niagara Falls from the USA side of the falls.

Maid of the Mist

The Maid of the Mist Boat Ride offers a thrilling adventure into the heart of Niagara Falls. This iconic boat tour takes you up close to the majestic Horseshoe Falls, where you'll feel the power of millions of gallons of water cascading down around you. As you don a complimentary poncho to stay dry, the boat will navigate through the mist and the churning waters, providing an unforgettable experience of the falls' breathtaking beauty and immense force. Cave of the Winds

The Cave of the Winds tour offers an exhilarating and immersive experience at Niagara Falls, bringing you as close as possible to the mighty waters of the falls. This adventure begins with an elevator ride down to the base of the Niagara Gorge. As you walk along a series of wooden walkways, you'll be led to the awe-inspiring Hurricane Deck, situated just a few feet away from the crashing waters of the Bridal Veil Falls. Here, you'll feel the full force of the falls and the wind, with water rushing all around you, creating an unforgettable sensory experience.

Day 12 - Niagara Falls to Toronto

Today your train journey will take you across into Canada on the Maple Leaf service. You will briefly board the train in Niagara Falls USA before arriving in the Canadian side of Niagara Falls where you will disembark to clear customs and immigration for Canada. Afterwards you will continue your journey to Toronto spending the remainder of your day at leisure.

Day 13 - Toronto

Build your own Toronto experience with the freedom of our hop-on-hop-off city tour aboard a double decker bus. Let the friendly and knowledgeable tour guides educate you on the fun facts and history of Toronto as they take you through the city with stops at / near all major hotels in the downtown area. Day 15 - Toronto Return

Your New York and Toronto adventure comes to an end, make your way to the airport for your onward flight home.

We recommend taking the UPS Express from Union Station direct to the airport.
