Your journey continues from Salt Lake City on your self drive adventure leading you through some of America’s most iconic natural wonders, First, stop in Wendover to explore the Bonneville Salt Flats a vast, otherworldly expanse covering over 30,000 acres, renowned for hosting numerous land speed record attempts. From there, journey across Nevada, taking in the beauty of Lake Tahoe before crossing into California. As you drive past the dramatic Sierra Nevada Mountains, you’ll arrive at Yosemite National Park one of the country’s most breathtaking destinations, known for its towering waterfalls, rugged peaks, and abundant wildlife. Conclude your journey in San Francisco, home to the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge and a vibrant, coastal charm.

Arrive in Denver and make your way to your chosen hotel spending the remainder of your day at leisure.

Day 3 - Canyon Spirit - Denver to Glenwood Springs
Embark on your Canyon Spirit journey from the picturesque Denver, Colorado. Heading west, you’ll be greeted by your first engineering marvel – the Big 10 Curve. As the train ascends, it will cross the Continental Divide through the Moffat Tunnel. Journey along the Colorado River, marvelling at the colossal beauty of Byers and Gore canyons. Keep an eye out for wildlife as you pass through Glenwood Canyon, on the Upper Colorado River. Finish your day in Glenwood Springs, where you’ll unwind overnight in a cosy hotel, included as part of your journey.

Day 4 - Canyon Spirit – Glenwood Springs to Moab
As you head southwest, you’ll begin your day surrounded by mountain vistas and desert cliffs. Rugged landscapes lead to the striking 15-mile De Beque Canyon, renowned for its stair-step cliffs of sedimentary rock layers. Continuing west, you’ll encounter Mount Garfield, the pinnacle of the Book Cliffs. Spanning 200 miles from east to west, these sandstone cliffs and mountains mark your transition from Colorado to Utah. Striking red rock formations signal your approach to Moab, the gateway to Utah’s Mighty 5 National Parks.

Day 5 - Canyon Spirit – Moab to Salt Lake City
After a restful night in Moab, wake up to a morning of exploration at your own pace whether it’s soaking in the desert sunrise or discovering the town’s hidden gems. Once onboard the train, journey past the last of the scenic Book Cliffs before winding through Castle Gate and ascending through the stunning Price Canyon, crossing the historic Soldier Summit via the Gilluly Loops. From Thistle Tunnel, travel through Red Canyon, taking in breathtaking views of the Wasatch Mountains before arriving in Salt Lake City via Spanish Fork.
Day 6 - Salt Lake City

Day 7 - Salt Lake City to Wendover
Today pick up your car hire and begin your drive from Salt Lake City to Wendover. On your drive to Wendover make a stop at the Bonneville Salt Flats this unique natural feature stretches over 30,000 acres. Here you can witness miles of shimmering white salt stretch across the horizon reflecting on the sky above blurring the lines between heaven and earth. The Bonneville Salt Flats is the backdrop of many of the world’s famous land speed record attempts. Overnight in Wendover.
Day 8 - Wendover to Winnemucca
Your drive today continues into Nevada to the town of Winnemucca is a small town with Old Western charm featuring historic shop fronts. On your drive to Winnemucca make a stop at Lamoille Canyon the largest valley in the Ruby Canyon enjoy exploring the hiking trails and take in the breathtaking scenery.
Day 9 - Winnemucca to Lake Tahoe
Continue your drive through Nevada to Lake Tahoe the largest freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains crossing over both Nevada and California.
Day 10 - Lake Tahoe
A full day at leisure to explore Lake Tahoe.
Day 11 - Lake Tahoe to Yosemite National Park
Your journey today takes you through the stunning Sierra Nevada Mountains to the breathtaking Yosemite National Park. Renowned as one of America's most scenic national parks, Yosemite offers a wide array of walking trails to explore. As you wander through its diverse landscapes, keep an eye out for local wildlife, including black bears, mule deer, and foxes.

Day 13 - Yosemite to San Francisco
Today is your final drive towards San Francisco the city best known for its iconic Golden Gate Bridge.

A full day to explore San Francisco and all it has to offer, options include Alcatraz Island, Fisherman's Wharf and Union Square, or head just out of town crossing the Golden Gate Bridge to the charming village of Sausalito.
