Experience the heart and soul of Texas with the Texas Eagle - an Amtrak rail journey that takes you on a memorable adventure through major cities from Los Angeles to Chicago. Wind through the Land of Lincoln, cross the Mississippi River and pass through East Texas's picturesque Ozarks and piney woods.
Along the way, enjoy vibrant cities such as San Antonio with its fiesta of colours and aromas on the Riverwalk, the live music capital of the world in Austin, and the big city attractions, Dallas. Take in 360-degree views from the Reunion Tower GeO-Deck, visit the Dallas Zoo's 2,000 animals, and revisit history at the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza.

Day 1 - Fly UK to Los Angeles
Take the flight to Los Angeles. Spend the rest of the day at leisure
Day 2 - Los Angeles & The Texas Eagle
Enjoy most of the day in Los Angeles to explore. Visit one of the many famous local beaches, dabble in some celebrity spotting amongst the mansions of Beverley Hills and Hollywood, shop till you drop, or enjoy a theme park visit. In the eveining board the Texas Eagle for a 22:00 departure bound for San Antonio
Day 3 - Aboard The Texas Eagle
Sit back and enjoy the scenery of Arizona, New Mexico and Texas glide past
Day 4 - San Antonio
Arrive early (04:50AM) in the culturally and historically rich city of San Antonio. Spend the rest of the day exploring at leisure.
Day 5 - San Antonio
Spend a full day expolring San Antonio, perhaps visit the Alamo, stroll along the River Walk, or indulge in some of the fine Texan cuisine available
Staying at Hotel Valencia Riverwalk
Day 6 - San Antonio to Austin
Depart early from San Antoinio (07:00) and continue East on The Texas Eagle to the Texan state capital of Austin (arrive 09:23). Austin is a vibrant city, famed for its live music scene, outdoor spaces and great food.
Day 7 - Austin
Spend a full day at leisure exploring the many delights of Austin
Staying at Hotel Indigo Austin
Day 8 - Austin to Dallas / Fort Worth
Depart Austin on the Texas Eagle for the Dallas/Fort Worth area, home to the end of the Chisholm Trail, historic cattle stockyards, the infamous 6th floor museum at Dealey Plaza and for anyone around in the 1980's, Southfork Ranch of the Dallas soap opera fame.
Day 9 - Dallas
Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore the Dallas / Fort Worth area
Staying at Embassy Suites Fort Worth Downtown
Day 10 - Dallas - Chicago
Board The Texas Eagle for one more night, departing Dallas at 15:40.
Day 11 - Chicago
Arrive in Chicago around lunchtime (13:52) and spend the rest of the day at leisure in "The Windy City"
Day 12 - Chicago
Spend a full day exploring Chicago, perhaps take in the view from the top of Sears Tower?
Staying at Palmer House a Hilton Hotel
Day 13 - Return to the UK
Spend the moring at leisure in Chicago before catching your return flight to the UK
