Unforgettable encounters with magnificent wildlife
Manitoba offers some of the best and most exciting wildlife-spotting opportunities in Canada. Churchill, situated on the shores of Hudson Bay, is known as the “Polar Bear Capital of the World”. October and November are the best months to spot the world’s largest land predator in its natural habitat as they begin to migrate. Move to within touching distance inside special elevated Tundra Buggies as you safely observe polar bears in the wild. Hudson Bay is also the perfect spot to see beluga whales, where thousands migrate to give birth and feed in July and August.

Cultural and charming highlights to suit all adventurers
Winnipeg is the capital of Manitoba and is full of top attractions, places to eat, and excellent shopping. Among the sights worth a visit is the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, which is the only museum in the world to be dedicated to human rights awareness and education. The Forks is the hub of Winnipeg with shops, restaurants and outdoor spaces. Heading north takes you to Churchill on the west coast of Hudson Bay. It is isolated and remote – it is accessible only by rail or air. This location adds to its charm and provides the perfect setting to search for polar bears, beluga whales, and the stunning Northern Lights.

Escape to the great outdoors in Riding Mountain National Park
With an array of hiking and biking trails, wildlife-spotting opportunities, and the lakeside town of Wasagaming, Riding Mountain National Park is the perfect location no matter if you’re seeking a unique adventure or want to relax in picturesque surroundings. A hike to the top of Riding Mountain gives you excellent views of the park, while Clear Lake is at the centre and here you can enjoy swimming, boating and canoeing. This nature lover’s paradise is well worth adding to your itinerary during your stay in Manitoba.

Seasons that promise to stir the senses
Just like other provinces in Canada, the best time to visit Manitoba depends on what you want to do during your holiday. Summer in the province promises warm, long and sunny days when you can make the most of the outdoors with activities such as swimming, hiking and camping as well as experiencing festivals. The main highlight of autumn in Manitoba is the chance to see polar bears as they start their migration to Churchill during October and November. September and October are also good months to visit the national parks as the landscape starts to change. The winter months are very cold, but you can keep warm by enjoying skiing, snowboarding, ice skating and dog sledding. November to March is also the prime time to search for the Northern Lights
