An amazing Canada holiday, polar bear viewing

 

The most rewarding way to experience the polar bears of Churchill is to immerse yourself in their environment, from the moment you wake up, throughout the day and into the endless winter nights. Lodge guests have the chance to wake up and get going right in the bears' playground.

The Tundra Buggy Lodge is made up of specialised modules that, when linked end to end, stretch almost 100 metres long. The Lodge consists of two sleeper cars (housing 18 and 20 guests respectively), the lounge, dining and utility cars. While at the Lodge in the evening, guests are encouraged to make use of the open decks between cars to experience the polar bears and northern lights (weather permitting).

Enjoy two nights in Toronto before your spectacular polar bear expeirence at Tundra Buggy Lodge.

Note: Luggage allowance is maximum two pieces of checked luggage per person (up to 70lbs total) and one piece of carry-on per person (max. 15 lbs total). Please note that there is an option to store additional luggage in Winnipeg at no cost.

Day 1 - Arrive Toronto

Arrive into Toronto Airport and transfer to your chosen hotel. We recommend taking the UP express from the airport to downtown Toronto.

Day 2 - Explore Toronto

Spend today exploring Toronto's highlights including the CN Tower, Toronto Island, St Lawrence Market and more. Speak to our Canada Experts if you wish to add on one of our Toronto Experiences.

Day 3 - Toronto to Winnipeg

Today transfer to Toronto airport for your onward flight to Winnipeg. In the evening, you will meet your Frontiers North Adventures Interpretive Guide for a brief evening orientation.

Day 4 - Fly Winnipeg to Churchill

This morning you depart from Winnipeg on an early chartered flight to Churchill, Manitoba. Upon arrival in Churchill, you will enjoy a town and area tour including a visit and admission to the Itsanitaq Museum. There is ample time to discover Churchill’s personality by exploring unique shops, family-run restaurants, and a cultural museum that portrays the historical importance of the area.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included. Overnight in Churchill.

Day 5 - Churchill to Tundra Buggy Lodge

Enjoy a dogsledding excursion and interpretative program. Admission to the Parks Canada Visitor Centre. Afternoon transfer to the Tundra Buggy launch® site where you will board a Tundra Buggy and make your way into the Churchill Wildlife Management Area. Once you arrive at the Tundra Buggy Lodge located at Polar Bear Point, you will be greeted by the lodge staff and given a brief orientation of the accommodation.

Day 6 - Tundra Buggy Adventure

After breakfast, you'll head out on the Tundra Buggy®, away from the lodge, in search of polar bears and other wildlife. Evenings will be spent enjoying delicious home cooked meals, watching slide presentations from organisations such as Polar Bears International, and socialising. If the weather and conditions are right, you may catch the Northern Lights putting on a dazzling natural light show.

Day 7 - Tundra Buggy Lodge

Day 8 - Churchill to Winnipeg

Your final day in Churchill is spent enjoying another day aboard the Tundra Buggy® exploring the Churchill Wildlife Management Area. After the tour, you will be transferred to Churchill airport for the flight back to Winnipeg and will be transferred to the hotel for check in.

Breakfast, lunch, and a light meal on the plane included. Overnight Churchill.

Day 9 - Winnipeg Return

Your polar bear adventure comes to an end today. Transfer to Winnipeg airport for your return flight home.
