A: It depends where you are, but you can expect winter in Canada to be cold and snowy, with January typically the coldest month of the year and the temperature can fall to -14C. Temperatures fall below freezing across most of Canada, but Vancouver on the Pacific Coast can be milder with rainy conditions. Winter in northern Canada is more extreme, with temperatures plummeting to –20C to –40C.
