Start in Perth with a trip to Rottnest Island, home to stunning beaches and the friendly Quokka. Take in the views from Wadjemup Lighthouse before beginning your drive south.

Your first stop is the coastal town of Bunbury, where dolphins are often seen along the shoreline. Then continue to the renowned Margaret River Valley, famous for its wineries—perfect for tastings and vineyard tours.

Next, journey through the breathtaking Karri Valley, where ancient tingle trees, some over 400 years old, tower above the forest floor—these trees are unique to this region. On your way to Denmark, stop at William Bay National Park. Relax at Greens Pool, a tranquil beach spot where the forest meets the sea.

End your trip in Albany, rich in history and natural beauty. Visit the National Anzac Centre to learn about the Anzacs' role in World War I. Don’t miss Torndirrup National Park, where dramatic coastal formations like The Gap, Natural Bridge, and The Blowholes create unforgettable scenery.

Day 2 - Rottnest Island

Discover the stunning Rottnest Island, the “Emerald Isle in a Sea of Sapphire,” located just 19 kilometres off the mainland. Embark on the island’s most comprehensive guided tour, offering air-conditioned comfort as you explore this pristine A-Class nature reserve. Enjoy the island’s diverse wildlife, beautiful beaches, woodlands, and unique salt lakes, starting with a memorable historic train ride.

This all-inclusive 4-hour tour covers all of Rottnest’s must-see spots, including the Wadjemup Lighthouse, Henrietta Rocks, Oliver Hill Gun Fortification and Tunnels, and the breathtaking viewpoints at Cathedral Rocks and Cape Vlamingh.

You’ll experience all of Rottnest’s key habitats, along with insights into its cultural and historical heritage, from maritime and military history to future developments. Conclude your day by exploring the island settlement or relaxing with a drink at the Rottnest Quokka Arms Pub.

Day 3 - Perth to Bunbury

Today begin your drive to Bunbury south from Perth along the Kwinana Freeway and Forrest Highway. On route enjoy a stop at the Bunbury Dolphin Discovery Centre where you have the opportunity of meeting the friendly wild dolphins.

Alternatively, you can opt to take the scenic country route from Perth through the picturesque rolling pastures and orchards of Harvey and Dardanup, picking up some fresh local produce along the way.

Spending the remainder of your day in Bunbury at leisure.

Day 4 - Bunbury to Margert River

Continue your drive to the Margert River, in the morning we recommending taking the short drive to Busselton (Undalup) where you can enjoy breakfast overlooking Geographe Bay and the longest timber jetty in the southern hemisphere – Busselton Jetty.

Another great stop on route is Dunsborough and Yallingup, here you can discover the natural wonders and history of Ngilgi Cave, and experience one of the oldest surviving cultures on Earth by joining an Aboriginal culture tour of the cave. Visting between June and December Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse is a great space for spotting migrating humpback whales.

Arriving into Margert River spending the rest of your day at leisure exploring the various wineries.

Day 6 - Margaret River to Karri Valley

Head inland to the old timber town of Nannup – famous for its colour-filled gardens, spring wildflowers and country crafts – and on to the premium cool-climate wine region of Pemberton, the ideal place to stop for lunch or dinner.

Explore the region’s dense forests and waterways on foot or bike – the epic Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi Trail meander through nearby Beedelup and Warren National Parks.

Take a trip on the Pemberton Tramway, through deep forests, and learn about the history of the timber railways and their significance to the region.

Day 7 - Karri Valley to Denmark

Travel along the Vasse and South Western Highway to Walpole, where you can experience the breathtaking Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk. This 40-metre-high canopy walkway, the first of its kind, offers a gentle ascent through 400-year-old tingle trees, providing stunning panoramic views of the surrounding forest.

In the afternoon, embark on a scenic 40-minute drive east from Walpole towards Denmark, stopping at William Bay National Park, where majestic forests meet the rugged Southern Ocean. Relax in the tranquil waters of Greens Pool, perfect for swimming and snorkeling, or explore the park’s dramatic coastline on foot with a scenic walk to Elephant Rocks, where massive granite boulders resemble a herd of bathing elephants.

As you near Denmark, immerse yourself in the region’s rich gourmet scene, with opportunities to sample local produce and visit renowned wine cellars.

Day 8 - Denmark

Day 9 - Denmark to Albany

From Denmark, embark on a scenic 55-minute drive east through Albany (Kinjarling) to Discovery Bay, home to the state-of-the-art National Anzac Centre. Here, you can step into the shoes of one of the 40,000 Anzacs who served in the First World War.

Alternatively, explore the region’s rich maritime history at the historic Whaling Station, a fascinating museum housed within a former fully operational whaling facility, offering a glimpse into both the area's natural diversity and its whaling past.

Just a 10-minute drive from Discovery Bay, on the opposite side of the peninsula, lies Torndirrup National Park—one of Western Australia’s most breathtaking coastal landscapes. Stand in awe before the dramatic formations of The Gap, Natural Bridge, and The Blowholes. If you visit between July and October, you may even spot migrating whales from the towering cliffs.

Return to Albany’s charming heritage district, where a variety of restaurants, taverns, and accommodations await to round off your day.

Day 10 - Denmark to Perth

Today is the final section of your drive as you make you way back towards Perth. Upon arrival in Perth make your way to your chosen hotel spending the rest of your day at leisure.
