A self drive through some of the most historic cities and beautiful beaches of South East USA. This road trip offers Charleston & Savannah, two famous colonial and civil war towns. Next is beautiful Jekyll Island, with its haunting driftwood beach and the iconic Jekyll Island Club, once a private retreat for America's wealthy elite, now a boutique hotel.  Continue Southwards via the Florida Coastline and the Space Center of Cape Canveral to Miami with it's vibrant art deco southbeach area. If this isn't enough, we can offer an extension through to the Florida Keys....

Day 1 - Atlanta

Arrive in this gateway to the South. Collect your rental car and check into your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2 - Atlanta

Explore the city at your own pace, perhaps visit the World of Coca-Cola, The Atlanta History Centre or the National Centre for Human Rights. Piedmont park in the downtown area is perfect for a stroll, or visit one of Atlanta’s many neighbourhoods for some great southern cuisine and hospitality.

Day 3 - Charleston

Take the drive from Atlanta to neighbouring Charleston, one of the USA’s most historic and beautiful cities.

Day 4 - Charleston

Spend the day discovering Charleston, with its well-preserved architecture, beautiful gardens and wonderful shopping.

Day 5 - Savannah

Cross back into Georgia and the Southern Belle of Savannah. This charming riverside city is sure to beguile.

Day 6 - Savannah

The Historic trolley tour is a great way to see the many beautiful areas of this town and Is definitely recommended. Alternatively, you may wish to wander along the riverside or through some of the beautiful squares, strewn with live oaks in the historic quarter.

Day 7 - Jekyll Island

Venture South to the historic state park of Jekyll Island, one of the beautiful “Golden Islands” of the region. En route we suggest stopping off at the Wormsloe Historic Site, with it’s postcard perfect oak Alley and perhaps take lunch in the charming seaside town of St Simmons

Day 8 - Jekyll Island

Choices abound, visit the eerie sight of driftwood beach, or the turtle centre. History buffs will enjoy Mosaic, the Jekyll Island Museum and the Landmark Trolley tour, offering an insight into the heyday of the Island Club. Alternatively, just relax on one of the many virtually deserted beaches.

Day 9 - Cape Canaveral / Cocoa Beach

Cross into Florida with todays destination being Cape Canaveral, with its long sandy beaches and close proximity to the famous space center.
