Eastern Canada and New England Discovery

Day 1 - Fly to Toronto

Arriving in Toronto, and transfer to your downtown hotel, and enjoy a day free for exploration. We highly recommend taking the UP Express train from Toronto Airport to downtown, it runs every 15 minutes and only takes 20-25 minutes to get to downtown. From which you can take a local taxi to your hotel should you not wish to walk.

Day 2 - Explore Toronto

Embark on a day of exploration! You may choose to meander one of the city’s unique neighbourhoods, such as Cabbage Town, Bloor West Village, or Yorkville, to name a few. Enjoy the ample greenspace of the many relaxing parks or dare to ascend the 553-metre CN Tower (admission included) to get unparalleled panoramic views from the top. While here, make time to taste the array of international cuisine options throughout the city. 

Day 3 - Toronto to Ottawa

Travel east to historic Kingston and Gananoque, gracing the shores of the St. Lawrence River. Along the way, perhaps stop for lunch in beautiful and historic Picton, or tour one of the local wineries of Prince Edward County. Arriving in Ottawa after check in take some time to explore Canada’s national capital. View the neo-gothic parliament buildings surrounded by lush lawns and gardens. Enjoy the liveliness of Byward Market and the many historical and cultural sites across the city. At sunset, admire the waterways as they light up in a blaze of colour before setting out on the town.

Day 4 - Ottawa to Montreal

Departing Ottawa, travel eastbound towards the border of Ontario and Quebec following the south shore of the Ottawa River. Small waterside communities such as Hawkesbury offer a pleasant place to stop, enjoy the views of the river and have a meal. Continuing onward, you soon reach the thriving metropolis of Montreal, a city of cultural contrasts and urban elegance.

Day 5 - Explore Montreal

The day is at leisure for exploring Montreal, boasting a vibrant, cosmopolitan flair and a unique combination of the founding cultures of Canada. Stroll through the Old Port, visit the Notre Dame Basilica, Olympic Park or perhaps travel the tree-covered pathways of stunning Mount Royal Park overlooking the city. We have included admission to the Hop on Hop off Bus.

Day 6 - Montreal to Quebec City

Departing Montreal, you will travel further into the French-speaking province of Quebec. Following the shores of the St. Lawrence River, you will reach Quebec City - the only walled city in North America. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to explore this historical city.

Day 7 - Explore Quebec City

There is something in this city of history and French culture to entice every visitor. You may choose to visit La Citadelle, the colonial fortification that on many occasions protected the shores of New France from the forces of the other great world powers centuries ago. For a taste of those founding years, pay a visit to the Place Royale historic district and see the buildings and streets as they appeared in the earliest days of settlement.

Historical characters will let you experience 400 years of the city’s captivating past! In addition to the Chateau Frontenac, the Dufferin Terrace and the Notre-Dame-de-Quebec Cathedral Basilica, the tour will also take you to the Petit-Champlain district and Place Royale to admire numerous 17th and 18th century buildings.

Day 8 - Quebec City to Boston

Today you venture southward to the United States border, crossing over into the beautifully green state of Vermont. Renowned for its skiing in the winter and lush parks in the summer, the drive is picturesque enroute to New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Many small communities and midsized cities are along the highway, offering ample places to stop for lunch and a rest. Arrive in Boston, a pivotal location in American history and one of the great centres of commerce and the arts today.

Day 9 - Explore Boston

Take the full day to discover the history and many attractions of Boston. Walk the Freedom Trail, its red brick path weaving through the centre of Boston featuring over a dozen historical sites. Visit the beautiful campus of world-famous Harvard University, or perhaps spend some time at signature visitor destinations such as the New England Aquarium or the USS Constitution Museum moored in the bay. There is an attraction for every taste in this dynamic city

Day 10 - Boston to New York City

Leaving Boston, the road leads southward through such charming small cities as Hartford and the beautiful university town of New Haven. A city surrounded by boroughs that are cities unto themselves, arrive in New York – the largest city in North America. World famous as the destination for immigrants since the early days of America, see how being the seat of US economic power has created a metropolis like no other.

Day 11 - Explore New York City

Although there are nearly uncountable attractions and points of interest in New York City from the art galleries of Soho to the energy of Broadway, some of the most popular destinations are the Statue of Liberty on Elis Island, the bridges and forests of Central Park, the dazzling lights of Time Square and the Art Deco masterpiece of the Empire State Building.

Day 12 - New York to Washington DC

Today the road leads through some of the most pivotal locations in American history. En route is Philadelphia, often referred as the birthplace of democracy. Similarly, Baltimore enjoys a long history in both the colonial and civil wars periods. Arriving in Washington, see the public spaces and buildings that house the seat of United States government with architectural views famous around the world.

Day 13 - Washington DC

In addition to the incredible Smithsonian museums displaying two centuries of American innovation and history, many visitors choose to spend their time on the capital grounds. Visit the public buildings such as the House of Speakers, the Senate, the Mall, the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial and many other iconic points of interest.

Day 14 - Washington DC to Lancaster

Fleeing persecution in Europe over 300 years ago under a promise that they would be allowed to live their lives in religious autonomy, the Dutch Amish community established themselves in the lush farmlands of Pennsylvania. Today, they still very much live the lifestyle of three centuries ago and have become a destination for visitors craving a look back in time. Renown for their wood craft, baking and folk artistry, visitors can find a wide array of handmade products for purchase.

Day 15 - Lancaster to Niagara Falls

Travelling through the heart of rural Pennsylvania and upper New York, experience an area well known for vacation homes and forested retreats.Crossing over the Canadian border at Queenston / Lewiston, arrive in Niagara Falls where the remainder of the day is free to explore the local sights.We have included the Niagara Falls Adventure Pass giving you access to Niagara Falls top attractions. 

Day 16 - Fly from Toronto

The last leg of your journey takes you to Toronto where you arrive at Toronto International Airport in time for your departure.
