Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Saskatoon is a city straddling the South Saskatchewan River in Saskatchewan, Canada. North along the riverside Meewasin Trail is Wanuskewin, with exhibitions exploring indigenous culture. On the trail’s southern stretch, native wildlife inhabit the prairie grasslands of Beaver Creek Conservation Area. East of the river, the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo has manicured gardens and a children’s zoo.

At the city’s heart, the University of Saskatchewan campus features Collegiate Gothic buildings and night-sky views from its observatory. Also on campus is the Diefenbaker Canada Centre, which explores the life and legacy of the 13th Canadian prime minister, John G. Diefenbaker. The Nutana neighbourhood is known for its art deco Broadway Theatre and the Marr Residence, a 19th-century home showcasing colonial history. In the south, the Western Development Museum re-creates an early-20th-century prairie town.
