Known as the first “Cow Town” of the old West, historic Maple Creek is a growing community that serves as a gateway for an estimated 250,000 tourists each year heading to the Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, Fort Walsh, and the historic site of the Cypress Hills Massacre.
Located less than 10 minutes off the Trans Canada Highway midway between the cities of Medicine Hat, Alberta and Swift Current, Saskatchewan, this bustling hub of the southwest was recently voted Canada’s Greatest Western Town, and is home to such signature events as Taste of Maple Creek, building on it’s reputation as a fine dining centre, as well as the Annual Heritage Festival, the CCA Rodeo, Cowboy Poetry & Western Art Show, Cowtown Christmas, and the iconic Battle of Little Big Puck.
