The Penticton Lakeside Resort is nestled on the southern shore of Okanagan Lake, with each room offering a view of the lake. The resort has its own private beach which is open during the summer season (weather permitting) to all in-house guests. The beach is set with beach towels, chairs, tables with umbrellas, a bar, and food service options.
The West Wing is a modern addition to this iconic waterfront property and its aim is to provide a peaceful retreat for hotel guests. The resort kept its carbon footprint in mind, opting to use primarily timber over more commonly-used steel and concrete material. In fact, all of the wood used in the construction of this building was sourced from sustainably-managed forests.
The West Wing’s 70 rooms feature mainly heavy timber accents, including exposed wooden ceilings and glulam columns. In collaboration with Structurlam, we’ve designed an environmentally-sustainable addition to our resort that features the most cross-laminated timber panels in any building in the entire Okanagan Valley.
