Wellington Cable Car

The Wellington Cable Car is one of Wellington's oldest and most popular tourist attractions.

The cars run from Lambton Quay in the heart of the central business district and within 5 minutes whisks you from under the corporate towers of The Terrace past Kelburn Park and Victoria University to the top entrance of the Wellington Botanic Gardens with its magnificent lookout over the City and harbour - Te Whanganui-a-Tara (The Great Harbour of Tara).

The Cable Car runs every 10 minutes and is open every day of the year except Christmas Day.
