Stowe Experiences

Stowe is a year round destination, nestled beside Vermont’s highest peak Winter offers great skiing, dogsledding and sleigh rides, along side an active après ski scene. Spring and Summer provide mountain and woodland trail hiking, and biking. Autumn produces the famous colours of New England in the Fall, a vibrant mosaic of rich hues that pattern the landscape.

Below is a small selection of the tours we can organise for you when you have booked your USA holiday with us and are visiting Stowe.

Welcome to the birthplace of alpine skiing in Vermont. From the first lift-served runs on Mount Mansfield at Toll Road in 1937 to the birthplace of the 10th Mountain Division and home to the nation's oldest Ski Patrol, now in our 86th season, Stowe has long been a premier Vermont skiing & riding destination. While everyone experiences the resort differently, one thing’s for certain: the resorts story and dedication to the premium mountain experience continues. Welcome to quintessential Vermont. Welcome to Stowe.

Zig and zag your way to the summit ridge of Mt. Mansfield along the historic Toll Road, where stunning views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains await you as they have visitors since 1932. The road up Mount Mansfield is 4.5 miles of awe-inspiring natural beauty. You can park at 3,850 feet, relax and take it all in.

At Mountainside, youngsters enjoy a tube float around Little Smugglers' Lagoon as big kids settle in for a slide down the Giant Rapid River Ride. Tube down our 300-foot long and 30-foot tall Giant Rapid River Ride, affectionately known as the GRRR slide! Alternatively the Turtle Mini-Waterslide can enchant even the youngest guests as can exploring the gentle waterfalls, disappearing fountains and lazy river at Little Smugglers' Lagoon. Visitors can also make use of the Mountainside Lap Pool in order to swim and relax in equal measure. Food and drink can also be purchased from the Mountainside Cabana which can act as an oasis during a visit to Mountainside.

The Backcountry and Nordic Center is the gateway to our cross country and backcountry terrain. It offers guided tours, lessons, and rental equipment for you to get out and enjoy some of the best Snowshoeing in New England. Bolton’s 100-kilometer Nordic trail system offers terrain for snowshoe enthusiasts of all levels, with 15 kilometers of groomed trails. For Backcountry adventurers, the Bolton Backcountry is second to none in the Eastern States, with 1500 acres of beautiful terrain right out of the gates, and even more beyond as it links to the Mount Mansfield State Forest, making it the largest wilderness area in the Vermont State Forests

In the mountain bike park, there’s a little something for everyone with a Progression Zone to hone your skills, beginner cross country trails and of course the lift serviced park, which now offers everything from intermediate blue jump, flow and hybrid trails with grand sweeping berms through the woods, but also some gnarly, rowdy expert trails with legendary drops, gaps, jumps and oh yes, plenty of roots, rocks and reggae too!
