Below is a small selection of the tours we can organise for you when you have booked your USA holiday with us and are visiting Middleton.

The Rowley House Museum is housed in a historic landmark building that was built in 1868, and contains information, collections and artifacts donated by early settlers. See the exhibits, artifacts and photographs and learn about the men and women who built Middleton.

The Middleton Area Historical Society, a private non-profit organization now owns and operates the Rowley House Museum.  Many of the old artifacts are now on display in the various rooms that are open to the public for viewing. Over the years, a few home repairs have been necessary:  a new front porch in 1995, the building of the carriage house (an adjunct to the house that contains many additional artifacts), the replacement and enlargement of the back porch, and most recently the renovation of the kitchen and bathroom (including new floors). These projects have been completed with the hard work and dedication of many Historical Society volunteers.

Capital Brewery was founded in 1984, and brewed their first batch of beer, a pilsner, in the spring of 1986 and was founded to brew traditional German style lager beer in America. It has branched out to include American style ales, barrel aged beers, and several distinct IPA’s. Capital Amber (the largest seller) has been available in cans since 1999. Conveniently located in downtown Middleton, Capital Brewery is the perfect place to host any event. From intimate gatherings in the Bier Stube to private tours of the brewery or even parties of up to 1200 in the outdoor Bier Garten, complete with picnic tables and stage.

The Bier Stube is a warm and intimate room, full of class and award winning beer. It includes a genuine Brunswick Bar. The copper kettles, from Hoxter Germany, can be seen through the back bar windows. The newly remodeled Grain Room, an extension of our existing Bier Stube can be closed off for smaller gatherings. The Grain Room can host up to 50 people or it can be opened up to the existing Bier Stube and host up to 130 people. The Bier Garten is a wonderful outdoor space with a performance stage, tent covering, bar and picnic tables. It can accommodate up to 1200 people.

Pope Farm Conservancy is 105 acres that sits on top of three recessional moraines in the Town of Middleton, Wisconsin, where three different watersheds come together. A 360 degree panoramic view of Lake Mendota, the Capitol and Madison’s west side can be seen to the east, the Black Earth Creek valley to the North, and the terminal moraine to the South and West.

Six different Prairie Restoration projects and seven different crops including a field of sunflowers provide tremendous synergy that attracts wildlife to the conservancy. Forty interpretive signs follow the historical aspects of the land. They start with the Glaciers and land formation, followed by the Native Americans, settlers, the CCC project in the 1930’s, to today’s methods of erosion control. These features and their interpretation have resulted in making Pope Farm an educational conservancy. The Native American garden is designed to educate the public about the remarkable contribution made by the Native Americans to agriculture. All of this, combined with eight miles of walking trails and picnic areas provide the visitor with an unforgettable experience.
