Day 1 - Arrive St Johns
Upon arrival in St. John’s, check in to your chosen hotel. Spend the rest of your day at your leisure strolling past the vibrant, coloured homes of Jellybean Row. As evening falls, treat yourself to a meal at St. John’s Fish Exchange and savour the city’s renowned local seafood.

Day 2 - St Johns
Spend today uncovering the character and coastal beauty of St. John’s and its surroundings. Begin in the historic downtown: browse Water Street’s lively boutiques and cafés, climb the Battery’s hilly lanes for postcard views, then stand on Signal Hill where Guglielmo Marconi received the first trans‑Atlantic wireless signal. Continue to the fishing village of Quidi Vidi to sample craft beer and watch artisans at work in the former plantation.
In the afternoon, drive the short, scenic route to Cape Spear North America’s easternmost point. Wander past wildflowers to the 19th‑century lighthouse, gaze out over towering cliffs where humpback whales and seabirds often appear and feel the Atlantic winds that greet the continent’s first sunrise. Return to St. John’s in time for dinner and a stroll along George Street’s legendary pubs and live music venues.

Day 3 - St Johns to Port Rexton
Leave St. John’s and head toward Port Rexton, following a scenic route that first brings you to Cape Bonavista Lighthouse an excellent spot for watching whales, icebergs, and puffins. Continue to Dungeon Provincial Park to marvel at its dramatic collapsed sea cave and wave-carved archway, before continuing to Port Rexton and spend the remainder of the day at your leisure.

Day 4 - Port Rexton to Clarenville
Your drive today continues to Clarenville, on route stop in Trinity where we have included a spectacular whale watching experience. An opportunity to see majestic whales such as the humpback whale, fin whale, and sperm whale. With marine scapes, sea caves, icebergs (during season), and rugged coastline vistas as your backdrop, your whale watching adventure will follow the coast, remote islands, and communities of Trinity Bay. There may also be wildlife viewing opportunities, with cetaceans such as dolphins and porpoises. During the season, we may spot seals, bluefin tuna, basking sharks, puffins, gannets, eagles, and more.

Day 5 - Clarenville to Bauline South
Depart Clarenville this morning and head west on the Trans-Canada Highway, swapping the jagged skyline of Random Island for pine-rimmed ponds and the granite barrens of the Isthmus of Avalon.Turn south onto Route 10 and trace the Irish Loop, the scenic coastal road settled by generations of Irish fishermen. Sheer cliffs frame the Atlantic watch for humpbacks breaching offshore and seabirds riding the wind. Pause at the working ports of Trepassey and St. Shotts, then continue to Cape Race Lighthouse, famed for receiving the Titanic’s SOS.
Arrive in the evening at Cliff’s Edge Retreat and unwind letting the crash of the waves set the tone for a restful night.

Day 6 - Discover the Irish Loop
From Cliff’s Edge Retreat you can reach many Irish Loop highlights. Follow forested paths in La Manche Provincial Park to cliff-top lookouts, then cross the dramatic suspension bridge into the abandoned fishing village of La Manche. A short drive away, tour the Colony of Avalon at Ferryland one of the oldest English settlements in North America where the visitor centre’s artefacts and hands-on displays illuminate four centuries of coastal history.
