Day 1 - Singapore

Arrival Singapore

You will be met on arrival at Singapore Changi Airport and transferred to your hotel. the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 2 - Singapore

Private City Tour with National Orchid Gardens

Get to know Singapore this morning and discover the city, its history and cultural diversity.

You will get to visit Singapore first’s UNESCO World Heritage Site – Singapore Botanic Gardens and walk through the National Orchid Garden which boasts a sprawling display of 60,000 orchid plants.

Proceed to Little India, a haven of Indian culture and ethnicity, that embodies the vibrant and colourful pulse of the Indian community in Singapore. Here let your senses come alive as you walk past shops along the five-foot way offering a variety of exotic fruits, species, local vegetables, jasmine and orchid garlands.

Next, we drive to the mouth of the Singapore River to the Merlion Park for a view of the iconic Merlion and the Marina Bay. Merlion, with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, is an imaginary creative that represents Singapore’s humble beginnings as a fishing village.

Drive past the financial district to the historic district of Chinatown, a showcase of the rich cultural history of the earlier settlers. Singapore’s largest ethnic group, the Chinese, may have first settled here and yet in its midst is one of our oldest and most picturesque Hindu Temple.

Day 3 - The Eastern & Oriental Express

Depart Singapore on the Eastern & Orient Express.  Settle into your private cabin as you roll through Southern Malaysia. Enjoy dinner in one of the luxury dining cars, before joining your fellow passengers for a relaxing drink in the bar.  Retire for the night in your cabin, which has now been converted into a bedroom.

Day 4 - The Eastern & Orient Express

After breakfast arrive at Kuala Kangsar. Travel by coach to Labu Kabong, a village set among paddy fields and backed by lush mountains. Here you embark on a traditional village experience, a chance to immerse yourself in rural Malaysian life. Alternatively, advanced trekkers can follow our local naturalist on an invigorating hill-trek. We recommend long sleeves, trousers and suitable footwear for this choice. Cold towels and refreshments await at the top while you take in spectacular panoramic views. Rejoin the train for a refreshing cocktail accompanied by live piano music before a glamorous final dinner on board.

Day 5 - Bangkok

This morning alight at Kanchanaburi for your choice of tour. The Classic tour includes guided visits to the River Kwai Bridge and Thai-Burma Railway Museum. The Local Flavours tour combines a raft cruise with a cooking class. Return to the train for lunch, before ending your journey in Bangkok in the late afternoon. Transfer to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure

Day 6 - Bangkok

Spend a full day sightseeing in Bangkok

AM: Wat Trimitr with its invaluable Golden Buddha (5 1/2 tons of solid gold). Wat Po, the most extensive temple in Bangkok, with its colossal Reclining Buddha and the Chedis of the Kings. The Grand Palace was the seat not only of the king and his court, but contained within its crenelated walls the entire government administration. The architecture is vibrantly Thai though there are some European designs as well. Brilliantly coloured and gilded, and decorated with intricate detail, the overall effect is dazzling. The palace served as the official residence of the kings of Thailand from the 18th to the mid-20th century. The most famous building on the palace grounds is Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha).

PM: Among the best ways to explore Bangkok is by boat. A cruise along the Chao Phraya River - the city's lifeblood - and the canals of Thonburi reveal scenes at odds with the bustling, modern inner city. Visitors get a glimpse of the serene and simple lifestyle of riverbank dwellers. This picturesque view is what earned Bangkok the title of "Venice of the East." En route, stop at Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), one of the most attractive temples in Thailand.

Day 7 - Bangkok - Krabi

Private transfer from your hotel to the airport for the flight to Krabi.

On arrival in Krabi airport transfer to Nong Nuch Pier for the speedboat to the Rayavadee.

Day 8 - Rayavadee
