Milford Sound’s only accommodation
The end of the Milford road reveals the staggering sights of Mitre Peak, the entrance to the famous fiord and the small village of Milford Sound. Only a few buildings exist here, including the lodge which is the only place to stay in Milford Sound for independent travellers. Sitting harmoniously within its lush surrounds, Milford Sound Lodge offers a rare opportunity to stay within the grounds of a World Heritage site.

For guests of the lodge or those in search of good coffee and good food, Pio Pio restaurant is your oasis of delights in Milford Sound. With an incredible menu and great reviews, Milford Sound’s Pio Pio restaurant is a ‘must-do’ NZ dining experience. After a day exploring the World Heritage wonders of Milford Sound, take the night off cooking and step into our cosy restaurant for a fill of delicious New Zealand food, wine and craft beers.

For many, the highlight of their Milford Sound Lodge stay is a meal at Pio Pio restaurant. In a remote location, the kitchen team miraculously create a dining experience to rival any big city restaurant. But this is far from formal dining, Milford Sound’s only restaurant aims for good food, good company and the sharing of stories. 

A mouth-watering menu focuses on locally-sourced produce with Fiordland wild venison tenderloin and Marlborough Salmon firm favourites, as well as an easy kids menu and lighter options. The restaurant is fully licensed and is open seven days

GUEST LOUNGE WITH INTERNET ACCESS

Relax, read and recharge the batteries before turning in for the night. Our guest lounge offers plenty of super comfy sofas for chilling out and swapping stories of the day’s activities in Milford Sound. No television means no distractions from the beauty that is Milford Sound during the evening. Internet access is free for chalet guests and available for purchase for campervan guests – keep in mind the remote wilderness location means we are on a satellite system and speed/data is limited.
