Quirpon Island (pronounced kar-poon) is located off the northernmost tip of Newfoundland, Quirpon is the province’s best location for viewing icebergs as the Labrador Current carries them south. Quirpon Island boasts the longest iceberg-viewing season in Newfoundland, with the last melting in the fall during a good year.

Quirpon Island is only accessible by a short ferry ride from Newfoundland. Along the coastline of Quirpon Island is the Quirpon Lighthouse which was built in 1922 and offers guest accommodation in the renovated light keeps home. Quirpon Island is a great location for whale spotting along the shore line, orcas and humpback whales are frequently spotted.
