Ngapali

Ngapali beach (pronounced Napally and reputedly named by a homesick Italian traveler) is Myanmar’s premier beach destination, with 15 miles of palm fringed beach and inviting blue waters on the Bay of Bengal. Despite it’s beauty it is still relatively under developed compared to it’s Thai neighbours, mainly due to its remoteness and lack of international flights and maintains a laid back ambience.

Peak Season is from October to May, when the days are warm and the monsoons are held at bay. During the summer monsoons the resort virtually closes. However even in the peak periods Ngapali is an early to bed resort, rather a beach party destination.
Ngapali is accessed by flights from Yangon or Bagan via the nearby town of Thandwe, where the British Garrison building has been converted to a central market, which offers a glimpse into the local rural lifestyle.
