The lodge sits on Kelsey Boulevard in the town of Churchill, on the shore of Hudson Bay. Polar bear expeditions head out into the Churchill Wildlife Management Area in polar bear season, beluga whales gather in the bay in summer, and the northern lights can often be seen on clear nights.
Our expert Paul had a fantastic stay at Lazy Bear Lodge, heading out on experiences each day in summer to see polar bears and beluga whales. Returning each evening, he enjoyed relaxing in the comfort of a hotel with great service, with a stone fireplace and characterful reclaimed-timber rooms to unwind in. Evening storytelling by Indigenous staff adds a real sense of place, and the lodge works well within Canada wildlife holidays combining polar bears, belugas and northern lights.
