Newport is a city rich in history dating back to the 1860s when the city served as a military post during the Civil War, in 1937 Newport survived a major flood. Later in the 1940s through to 1980s Newport went through turbulent times as gambling halls and Las Vegas style clubs operated through the city. Now in the in the present Newport has put in reform efforts to clean up the city leading to political and social change, the city now welcomes visitors to come and learn about the city’s history.

Newport is home to many popular tourist activities as well as unique shops and independent cafes and businesses, the riverfront is a bustling area with both visitors and locals. The riverfront provides breath taking views of the Cincinnati skyline and is the host to many festivals throughout the year including Taste of Newport, Glier’s Goettafest, Riverfest and so much more!
