Cairo is a crazy, amazing city. It's old and new, messy and beautiful, all at the same time.

If you're visiting for the first time, be prepared for a sensory overload. The streets are packed with people, cars, and honking horns. The air is filled with the smell of spices, exhaust fumes, and cigarette smoke. But it's all part of the charm.

Here are a few things you should definitely do when you're in Cairo:

  • Visit the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. They're one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and for good reason. They're absolutely massive and awe-inspiring.
  • Explore the Khan el-Khalili bazaar. This is Cairo's oldest and most famous bazaar, and it's the perfect place to shop for souvenirs. You'll find everything from spices and carpets to jewelry and gold.
  • Visit the Egyptian Museum. This museum houses the world's largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts. It's a must-see for anyone interested in Egyptian history.
