Farewell Harbour Lodge is magical place blessed with some of nature’s most charismatic wildlife, where wild Orca skip over the blue Pacific waves, where mighty Grizzlies forage in lush coastal estuaries and where the towering evergreen forest seems endless. And let’s not forget the wild Salmon upon whose foundation all this richness rests. It is here, too, that guests can experience a taste of the rich Kwakwaka'wakw First Nations culture that has existed here since time immemorial.

THE LODGE
A west-coast inspired waterfront retreat with private 10 acre forest.
The primary lodge building and common area features a comfortable lounge and dining room, bar and a large brick fireplace surrounded by large windows and a wrap around deck boasting spectacular views of the harbour with its south and west exposure (great sunsets!). The expansive decks continue as a boardwalk along the shore, leading to eight, private ocean-side suites with ensuite bathrooms, a wood stove and 2 queen size beds. A ramp leads off the main lodge to the floating lodge below featuring four additional suites each with a private bathroom for twelve rooms in total.
All lodge suites and common areas have unique design features incorporating natural cedar, local materials and art from the area that offer a distinctive, relaxing ‘west coast’ feel.
The floating accommodation consists of the original float lodge that was fully refurbished and towed from its original location in nearby Bones Bay (as the original Bones Bay Lodge) to its permanent home below Farewell Harbour Lodge. And the Lodge owners can assure all our repeat guests that the original Bones Bay Lodge has lost none of its intimate feel. We think you’ll find that the entire accommodation complex - both on land and floating - has a unique appeal and charm with its interconnected series of walkways that seamlessly blend the sea, the forest and our accommodation into a very special place.
Below is a selection of our Canada Holidays which include a stay at Farewell Harbour Lodge. We can add a stay here to most west coast Canada holidays - contact us for details

The lodge offers fantastic opportunities to view bears in their natural environment. The lodge is self-contained with all excursions taking place away from the lodge itself. The excursions and viewings are all completely non-intrusive and the guides are so knowledgeable and each specialise or have interest in a particular field whether its cultural, biological or ecological.
