Banff Rocky Mountain Resort sits at the junction of Banff Avenue and Tunnel Mountain Road, around a 5-minute drive from downtown Banff, or a ride on the hotel's free area shuttle. Tunnel Mountain's trails are right on the doorstep, and Lake Minnewanka is around a 10-minute drive. The Banff Gondola and Banff Upper Hot Springs are a little further out, at around 15 minutes by car. Calgary International Airport is around a 90-minute drive.

We often suggest Banff Rocky Mountain Resort for families who want more space than a standard hotel room, with suites that sleep larger groups and full kitchens for longer stays. The eight acres of parkland and playground make it an easy, low-stress choice with children in tow, and the tennis courts and gym are a nice bonus if you want to stay active beyond hiking.
