Mount Royal Hotel sits right on Banff Avenue at the corner with Caribou Street, a couple of minutes' walk from downtown Banff's shops, restaurants and nightlife. The Bow River trail runs along the back of the hotel, making for an easy stroll straight from the lobby. Vermilion Lakes and Lake Minnewanka are both a short drive away, and Banff Upper Hot Springs is around a 10-minute drive. Calgary International Airport is around a 90-minute drive.
The rooftop hot tubs are a real highlight of Mount Royal Hotel, with proper views of Cascade Mountain to enjoy after a day on the trails or slopes. Our specialist Sean stayed here and loved the location, right in the heart of Banff Avenue, with shops and restaurants virtually on the doorstep. He found the rooms modern and comfortable while keeping a traditional mountain feel that suits Banff well, and a good base for exploring the town. It is an excellent choice for couples and families on shorter stays who want to be downtown without extensive walking for meals or shopping.
